south of Ashton Farmhouse

Cider house. C18. Random local stone; half-hipped Welsh slate roof. Two storeys, 2 bays, On north side a central
doorway at first floor level, approached by stone stairs; below, to right a similar boarded door and then a 2-light
leaded casement window. Single-storey extension against west gable: on east gable a shuttered window with timber lintol
below and left door above. Inside, machinery still in position, and in December 1985 still used for small-scale
commercial cider making.
