Milestone. Early C19. Ham stone pillar, cast iron plaque. Pillar almost buried by pavement, 375 mm wide and 330 mm
height still visible, built into base of garden wall: plaque 375 mm wide and 150 mm deep, with added semi- circles top
and bottom of 150 mm diameter: reads '3/LANGPORT/ILCHESTER 5 1/2.' This turnpike road was maintained by the Langport,
Somerton and Castle Cary Trust from 1792.
