-

- II

Farmhouse, early C18. Local stone uncoursed, with Ham stone dressings; mixed
roof with the 2 lowest courses of stone slates, then several of Welsh slates,
and the remainder covered with old plain clay tiles, between coped gables, with
stone chimney stacks at each end. 2-storey, 5-bay South elevation with central
half glazed door (2 solid panels and 9 glass panes with margins) set in a simple
architrave under a flat hood with plain console brackets: the windows all
hollowed chamfered mullioned windows of 2-lights all glazed with near-square
leaded lights; some of the opening metal casements retain their early stay bars
externally. On the West side a large projection for the chimney stack up the end
gable, and then a matching return wing with C18 composite timber window at
ground floor level and above 3-light mullioned window. There is an outshut to
the rear East of this projection. The interior not inspected. The outbuildings
not included, but included in this listing the South boundary wall of local
stone approximately 1.5 metres high, on Western side, with coping and a sweep
down to a lower stone wall along the front of the house - thereafter to the East
it becomes a brick wall approximately 1.5 metres high, with projecting course
and bullnose cappings.
