Base of cross. Probably C15. Doulting stone, about 700mm square by 250mm high, top corners chamfered, much weathered.
Probably the socket from 'Wyke Cross', which in C18 had 3 steps and most of shaft; in Cl9 had signpost set into
mortice: it formerly stood at the crossroads, date of relocation unknown. (Pooley "Old Crosses of Somerset', 1877)
