House, latterly inn, now shop and offices. Probably early to mid-
C19 with late C18 additions and early to mid-C19 alterations. Rendered
(lined as ashlar) probably over timber frame, partly rebuilt in red
sandstone and red brick. Red brick additions at rear. Plain tile
roof. One and a half bays with flush gabled cross wing to left of
two or three bays. Two storeys with additions of two storeys and attic. Cross-
wing with brackets supporting wall plate. Truncated brick ridge stack
off-centre to left at junction with cross wing. Three first-floor C19
four-pane sashes with painted stone cills. Pair of large late C20
plate-glass shop windows with glazed door set at angle to left and recessed
porch to right with two glazed doors. Rear of cross wing rebuilt in brick
with rendered gable above. Large late C18 or early C19 brick wing
at rear; two storeys and attic with dentil brick eaves cornice and integral
lateral brick stack. Interior with evidence of timber framing.
