Farmhouse. Probably mid-to late C17 with later additions and alterations.
Rendered and painted brick, possibly encapsulating timber frame, on
sandstone rubble plinth; slate roof. 3-unit baffle-entry plan with short
gabled range added to front on left. One storey and attic. C19 segmental-
headed casements to right and right of centre and two C19 gabled eaves
dormers. Gabled range has C19 casement on each floor. Plank door to far
left of main range under angled lean-that junction with gabled range.
C19 red brick ridge stack to right and external lateral stack to left of
short gabled range. Single-purlin ends to both main range and gabled range.
Small C19 pink sandstone addition (former granary) attached to left gable
end of main range. Interior. Large stack directly in front of entrance
with partly infilled inglenook fireplace to each side. Room to right of
stack has twin chamfered spine beams and joists. Cross wall with right
room said to be timber framed beneath plaster and has plank door with pointed
strap hinges to right. Roof trusses said to survive beneath plaster-board.
