Obelisk. Dated 1821. Grey sandstone ashlar. Square plan. Base consisting
of 2 steps. Battered plinth with panelled sides and coved cornice with
carved raven to west. Tall tapered obelisk. One panel inscribed: "THIS
OBELISK/WAS ERECTED BY/SIR ANDREW CORBET BART/TO COMMEMORATE THE BIRTH/OF
HIS GRANDSON/VINCENT ROWLAND CORBET/WHO WAS BORN AUGUST 11 1821/AT SIDMOUTH
AND CHRISTENED/AT MORETON CORBET/NOVEMBER 8 1821". Acton Reynald (q.v.)
was the Corbet family home.
