Farmhouse. Mid-C17 with late C19 alterations, partial rebuilding and
additions. Timber-framed on brick plinth with red brick nogging;
partly rebuilt, eaves raised, and extended in red brick; plain-tile
roofs. One framed bay with additions and 1½ framed bay projecting cross-
wing to west; baffle-entry plan. One storey and attic and two storeys.
Dentil brick eaves cornice to hall range; large squared and coursed red
sandstone and brick ridge stack off-centre to west, and external C19
brick end stack to east. Projecting cross wing to left with attic
casement and ground-floor three-light C19 wooden casement; hall range
to right with two windows on each floor, 3-light C20 metal casements
except for first-floor C19 two-light wooden casement to right; lean-to
brick porch in angle of cross wing to left with Tudor-style boarded door.
One storey lean-to to right; C19 gabled wing at rear. Cross wing has
exposed collar and tie-beam trusses with queen struts and V-struts.

INTERIOR: collar and tie-beam trusses with queen struts; wind braces;
timber-framed square-panelled cross-wall in cross-wing; chamfered
ceiling beams with ogee stops; large dressed sandstone stack; parlour
fireplace with chamfered wooden lintel and chamfered stone reveals
forming depressed arch, and cross wing fireplace with depressed chamfered
stone arch. Despite later alterations this house retains good quality
