Farmhouse, now divided into 3 dwellings. Late C16 or early C17 core,
remodelled and extended mid-C19 with later additions and alterations.
Roughcast timber frame and brick or rubblestone; slate roofs. Basic
L-plan comprising formerly jettied C16 or C17 range, apparently of 3 or
4 framed bays, but with eaves raised, with higher 3-bay mid-C19 range at
right-angles to south-west: 2-storey C19 gabled addition at right-angles
to rear on right of C16/C17 range forms No. 5. 2 storeys. C16 or C17
range (now forming No. 4 and part of The Yews) has five C20 casements
directly below eaves and 4 similar casements to ground floor, one to left
and 3 to right of boarded door. Outline of jetty visible above ground-
floor windows and of original wall-plate below first-floor windows.
Integral end stack to right has red brick shaft. Interior: C16/C17 range
has deep-chamfered ceiling beams to ground floor and timber frame (square
panels) exposed to right wall of corridor behind entrance. Large chimney
breast to right. Mid-C19 three-bay addition to south-west is not of
special architectural interest. No. 5 was disused at time of resurvey
(August 1986). Included for group value.
