Farmhouse. Early C17 with later additions and alterations, mainly of
late C19. Roughcast and rendered timber frame, partly clad or rebuilt
in painted brick; slate roofs. U-plan to south consisting of long hall
range with central baffle-entry and gabled cross-wing, left jettied to
first floor and right a late C19 addition. 2 storeys. 1:3:1
windows, late C19 and C20 casements including French window to left cross-
wing and 3 windows grouped together to ground floor of right cross-wing.
Narrow C20 casement inserted to left of hall range on first floor.
Central entrance; boarded door with segmental-headed rectangular barred
overlight. Painted red brick ridge stack directly above has toothed
capping. Prominent external lateral squared and dressed rubblestone
stack to left cross-wing has C20 red brick top with toothed capping.
Toothed capping also to integral end stack behind ridge to right of
hall range. Rear has gables projecting to centre and left (latter
rendered timber frame) plus continuation of right cross-wing. Interior:
inspection not possible at time of resurvey (September 1986) but ground-
floor room of left cross-wing noted as having parallel stop-chamfered
spine beams.
