Barn. Probably late C17, extended early C18 with minor later alterations.
Corrugated iron clad timber frame on uncoursed limestone rubble plinth continued
to tie beam level of left gable end with red brick addition to right; graded
slate roof. Original barn open to roof in 3 bays with cowhouse and hay-
loft added to right in early C18. Fixed-light windows directly below eaves
to left and right and plank doors to left, right and centre of original
barn. C19 segmental-headed stable door to cowhouse. Interior. Framing
visible: square panels, 3 from cill to wall-plate, partly concealed and
probably partly replaced by C20 weatherboarding. Double-purlin roof with
several reused timbers has collar and tie beam truss to left gable end and
raking struts from tie beams to principal rafters to centre trusses of original
barn. Stone wall between barn and cowhouse. Cefn Farmhouse is not included
in this list.
