House, now flats, one time Cottage hospital. Mid- to late- C18, restored
in 1893. Stuccoed (lined as ashlar), probably over limestone rubble,
with hipped graded slate roof. Two storeys. Recessed plinth, chamfered
raised quoins, and moulded wooden eaves cornice. Five bays; glazing-bar
sashes with exposed boxes; central 6-panelled door with rectangular
overlight and doorcase consisting of Doric pilasters supporting
entablature with dentil cornice and triangular pediment. Plaque between
first and second bays from right commemorating the conversion of the
house to St Catherines Clun Valley Cottage Hospital, opened on October
11th, 1893.
