Mid C18. Red brick; 2 storeys; 5 sash windows with shallow segmental heads,
moulded keyblocks and sills; quoins at sides; stuccoed doorcase in simple architrave
with stepped segmental pediment and 4-panelled divided door; moulded wood eaves;
old tiles. Converted into flats and interior much altered but retaining original
oak staircase (now painted). The house has literary associations with Charles
Dickens being the model for Miss Havisham's house in "Great Expectations",
and is 'star-graded' on this account.
