Nursery garden wall to Panshanger Estate. Early C18 probably built for
the 1st Earl Cowper when the house was nearby at Cole Green Park.
English bond red brick. Hexagonal on plan enclosing an area about 100m
by 60m. On shorter E and W ends there are arched gateways with
projecting surrounds, depressed arches with brick key and impost blocks,
pedimental heads. To N on long side a similar opening with stock brick
piers, overgrown head, small doors to S. Walls are 3 to 4 metres high
with tile coping, small clasping buttresses at angles, intermediate
buttresses on long sides. To N and W ornamental wrought iron gates,
scrolls and foliage to doors, upper arches with radiating corkscrews.
