House. Late medieval, remodelled in late C17. Cruck-framed. Roughcast over
timber frame on limestone rubble plinth; gable ends of coursed limestone rubble.
Gabled thatch roof; brick end stacks. Hall house remodelled as 3-unit plan. One
storey and attic; 3-window range. C20 door and casements, with swept dormers.
Interior: central bay flanked by 2 full crucks of former C14/C15 open hall, of
which each have collar and saddled apex with smoke-blackened beams. The truss on
the left was originally the end of the medieval building, which extended further
to the right. Open fireplace and stop-chamfered beams of late C17 inserted stack
and floor. Subsidiary features: C18 outbuilding projects forward from left bay;
of weatherboarding over timber frame on limestone rubble plinth and with hipped
thatch roof; butt-purlin roof inside.
