18/92 Ramsden Farmhouse

GV II

Farmhouse, now house. Early and mid C17 with mid-C20 alterations. Coursed
limestone rubble. Roof with stone slates to front and artificial stone slates to
rear. Three-unit plan. Two storeys and gable-lit attic. Integral stone end stack
to right and stone ridge stack off-centre to left. Three windows to first floor
and 4 to ground floor; 2- and 3-light wooden casements with wooden lintels. C20
lean-to stone porch between first and second windows from right, with boarded
door to centre. Straight joint off-centre to left. Gabled wing to rear with
continuous outshut in angle. Interior: large chamfered spine beams. Open stone
fireplace in right-hand ground-floor room with chamfered wooden lintel.
Semi-circular oak winder staircase from first floor to attic. Five-bay roof with
collar-and-tie-beam trusses and pairs of purlins.
