stables, granary and barn

Farmhouse and attached stables, granary and barn. Late C18 or early C19. Coursed
limestone rubble, roughly dressed to the front of the house, with some stone
dressings. Plain tile roofs. House sited at right angles to road and
stable/granary range adjoining to rear with attached barn at right angles.
House: 2 storeys and attic with 2-storey rear wing. Integral stone end stacks
(left-hand one partly rebuilt in C20 brick). Three gabled semi-dormers with
2-light wooden casements. Three bays; 3-, 2-, 2-light wooden casements with
stone cills and flush stone lintels. Central door with 6 flush panels (top 2
glazed), stone lintel and stone porch on wrought-iron brackets. Rear wing with
integral rendered end stack. Interior not inspected. Stable/granary range: one
storey and left, lower to right. Three-window front, 2- and 3-lights with wooden
lintels. Loft doorway off-centre to left and 2 ground floor boarded doors
(stable-type to right) with wooden lintels. Boarded granary doorway to right
approached by flight of 8 external stone steps. Through passageway to right with
wooden lintel. Interiors not inspected. Barn: 5 bays. Opposed cart entrances
with wooden lintels, partly blocked to rear. Small square vent holes. Interior
of barn has collar and tie beam roof trusses with raking struts, and pairs of
purlins.
