House. c.1700. Coursed limestone rubble; gabled stone slate roof; brick ridge
stack. 2-unit lobby-entry plan with early C18 extension and rear wing to right.
2 storeys; symmetrical 5-window range. Flat stone arch over C20 door: carved
brackets support shell hood over door. Flat stone arches over early C18
wood-mullioned and transomed cross windows; 2 blocked windows on first floor;
mid C19 horned 8-pane sash to left. Two-storey bay to right has flat stone
arches over C20 three-light casement and similar early C18 cross window on first
floor; end stack of stone finished in brick; rear wing of one-storey and attic;
later outshut with pantile roof to right. Rear of main range has 2 similar early
C18 cross windows on first floor and early C19 eight-pane sashes. Interior: main
range has early C18 panelled doors and moulded stone fireplaces; fine open-well
staircase in front of stack has turned balusters set on closed string, with
turned finials and perdentives to newels and dog-gate to cellar. Wing to right
has chamfered beams and quarter-turn stairs. Butt-purlin roof.
