House, now shop, dwelling and offices. Early C18, altered and extended c.1820.
Coursed limestone rubble; chamfered rustication to stucco front. Gabled Welsh
slate roof; brick end stack. L-plan with rear right wing. 2 storeys and attic;
5-window range. c.1850 shop windows with round-arched lights and moulded
cornice, flank 2 early C19 six-panelled (2 glazed) doors with pediment hood to
left. Keyed architraves on first floor to early C19 six-pane sashes and 2 mid
C19 2-pane sashes to right. Hipped dormers with 2-light casements. Rear: C18
wing to left of limestone rubble with gabled Welsh slate roof; early C19
three-storey wing to rear right, of brick with Welsh slate roof. Interior: C19
panelled doors. To right (No.16) are chamfered and cased beams on ground floor,
and early C19 shutters and ogee-stopped chamfered beam on first floor; stone
flag floors to ground floor; to rear are ogee-stopped beams and winder steps to
blocked cellar; in early C19 rear wing are stone winder steps to old cellar, and
dog-leg with landing stairs with stick balusters and ramped handrails. No.18 has
fragments of C18 panelling on ground floor. Butt-purlin roof.
