Mill and mill house. C18, with C19 alterations. Rubble stone with brick
dressings and a stone tiled roof half hipped at the E end. Main dwelling of
one storey and attic, 2 bays with a lower one-storey, one-bay range to the E
and the millhouse to the W. C20 sash windows to the main dwelling, 3-light
casements in E range with a glazed door and a gabled stone tiled dormer with
leaded casements. The millhouse has an entrance to the lefthand and a loft
door to the right. The waterwheel is housed in a weatherboarded lean-to
shed on the W wall. The millhouse preserves complete machinery including
the original C18 applewood wallower, a C19 cast iron pit wheel, 2 pairs of
stones and a flour bolter. A mill on the site is mentioned in the Domesday
Survey.
