Farmhouse. 1659 as dated on a plaque on the E front inscribed 'LRA 1659',
extensively altered and extended in the mid C19. Rubble stone and dressed
stone with a gabled stone tiled roof and 3 ridge stone stacks. The original
house of 2 storeys and 2 bays was extended by a further bay to the N. The
principal entrance was originally on the E front where a C19 bay window has
been added. All window openings are C19 of 3 and 4-light mullions with
dripstones and sashes. S front of 2 gabled 2-storey bays, that to the E
C17, that to the W C19 with the cardinal's hat insignia of Christ Church
College, Oxford who owned the property. Two further C19 2-storey rubble
stone and brick additions to the W. Interior: the SE norm has C17 woodwork
with fielded panels and panelling from the original screens passage.
