ASHLEY GREEN LANE
SP7990 (South side)
7/1 No.10 (Yeanans)
17/04/72

- II

House. Late C16 and C17, restored C20. Regular coursed and squared coursed and
banded ironstone and limestone with thatch roof. Originally said to be open hall
plan, now L-shape. Single storey with attic. Main front of 3-window range. 2
windows to right are 3-light plain casements under wood lintels with linked
eyebrow dormer to first floor. Cross wing breaks forward to right and is
probably a C17 addition with a 2-light stone mullion window to the first floor.
Return wall has a 2-light window with moulded stone surround. C20 porch at
intersection of wings has small single-light window with stone surround to
right. Ashlar gable parapets and brick stacks at ridge, that to centre is old
bricks. Elevation to left of main front has one 2-light stone mullion window.
Rear elevation is similar with eyebrow dormers. Interior not inspected but said
to have cross passage. Noted as having cruck roof construction.
