G.V. II
Farmhouse, now sub-divided into two dwellings. C.1600 and later, much altered.
Red brick, reed thatched roof. Two storeys and attics, L-shaped plan. Probably
of two builds, the right-hand (southern) range symmetrical about the axial
chimney stack : 3-light casements with transom, windows renewed. Central
entrance opposite stack. Openings with segmental heads. Chimney stack with
four octagonal shafts, on square base, with moulded star-tops. Two plain
brick pilasters. Brickwork to left-hand side earlier but much patched and
renewed : one area remains in English bond with diaper patterning. 3-light
casement windows, renewed. Entrance door with segmental head. Parapeted
gables with internal stack on north gable. On the east side, a two storey
gabled wing with parapeted and tumbled gable with internal stack. Two thatched
dormers in roof of main range. Windows all casements, mostly C20 replacements.
Thatched and slated lean-to's and small two-storey extension at north gable.
