TM 19 NE BRACON ASH HAWKES LANE

house

Farmhouse probably of Lobby-Entrance type originally. C17 and later.
Rendered timber frame with thatched and pantiled roofs. T-plan with service
cross wing. One storey with attic. Mainly C18 3-light mullion and transom
fenestration. 2 gabled dormers and one hipped dormer. One off-centre
axial stack, one gable-end stack and one stack rising from centre of cross
wing. C18 or early C19 front extension with sash windows with glazing
bars, dentilled cornice and hipped black pantiled roof. Verandah with
cast iron supports and segmental arches. Modern extensions to rear.
Original butt-purlin roofs and one pair of jointed crucks probably C18
insertions.
