Farmhouse. Late C17/early C18 and later: dated SL-1719 on tie irons of north
gable. Brick and flint, partly rendered and partly colourwashed, steeply
pitched pantile roofs. Two storeys and attics; irregular E-shaped plan.
The house incorporates a 2-storey outbuilding at its south end; on the west
elevation (to road) are four staged brick buttresses against a rendered wall:
C20 door and window openings with segmental heads. West elevation of house
rendered and ashlared: two ground floor and two first floor sashes without
glazing bars, ground floor openings with keyblocks. Doorway between windows
has red brickwork exposed, showing rubbed and keyed arch over door. Pilasters
rendered over. Double pile south-east cross wing of brick with blocked first
floor window opening with square brick drip. Ground floor opening reduced,
with pegged oak frame, mullions removed. Coped and parapeted gable. Northern
pile of crosswing has C20 casements, gable parapet with tumbling-in at base;
north wall rendered and ashlared. 2 1/2 storey projection to north-east of brick-
work, partly whitewashed and partly rendered and ashlared. Gable parapet
with corbelled eaves. Large external gable stack with square rendered shaft.
Two blocked circular attic windows in gable. In the north wall, two cross
casements with leaded glazing. C20 flat roofed dormer in north side roof
slope. Three ridge stacks, two on main range, one on cross wing, all rebuilt.
Roof over south range has square-set triangular section butt purlins; collars
between principal rafters.
