War Memorial. c,1921, with post 1945 inscriptions. Stone: bronze statue. Square
stepped base; square plinth with bronze panels of names to each side. Decorative
frieze to top. Statue of female figure holding wreath, by Geo. Alexander (?).
Shallow stone plinth surround forming 4 flower beds in a circle round the base.
The surround was the former base to the pillar, now in the Bullcroft (q.v.),
which marked the spot where bulls were baited.
