The Old Farmhouse

Farmhouse, now house. Late C17. Uncoursed limestone rubble; gabled and
half-hipped roof, old tiles to front and C20 tiles to rear; brick end stack, and
rear lateral stack of stone finished in C20 brick. 3-unit plan. 2 storeys;
4-window range. Concrete lintel over C20 door with porch, and timber lintels
over C20 doors to sides. Concrete and timber lintels over C20 windows: chamfered
and ogee-stopped timber lintel over window above central door. Interior: open
fireplace to right. Room to left has chamfered and wedge-stopped beam,
quarter-turn stairs adjoining open fireplace and panelled spice cupboard. First
floor has chamfered and stopped beam to left. Roof, remodelled in C20, has
queen-post truss to right. The farmhouse was converted into 2 cottages in the
mid C19.
