Substantial house, formerly service wing. 1787-91 by S.P. Cockerell for Sir
Henry Ashhurst. Limestone ashlar; Westmorland-slate roof with brick stacks,
Double-depth plan. 2 storeys, 4-window front has, to left of centre, a panelled
door in a stone architrave with a flat canopy carried on large scroll brackets;
ground-floor sashes have 24 panes. Similar windows at sides and 2 very tall
windows at rear. Interior not inspected, but noted as containing a marble
fireplace from the main block of the house which was demolished in 1953.
