One building of 2 tenements. Probably originally C17 and once used as a
chapel; altered since 1821 by the insertion of ground floor windows and
a chimney stack and converted to a dwelling-house. Repaired and the ground
floor stuccoed in 1949. 2-storeyed rubble with a modern red tiled hipped
roof and 1 brick stack. Both floors have sash windows in wood frames, 3
in the ground floor and 2 in the lst. No 32 has a pedimented wood door frame
with a moulded entablature. No 34 has a plain doorway. For exterior in 1821,
see J C Buckler's drawing in Bodl MS Don a 3 II 91. A tablet commemorates
the preaching of John Wesley in 1783 at this, the first Oxford Methodist
Meeting House.
