House, shop and office now house and restaurant. One of a pair built in 1866 by
William Wilkinson of Oxford for W.J. Douglas the owner of Castle House (q.v.).
Gothic style. Red, white, blue and black brick with dressings of 2 different
stones. Hipped, slated roof with finial. Brick end stack. 2 storeys plus attic.
Narrow frontage. Ground floor has heavy carving to the ground floor window and
door openings including the foliated capitals to the 4 pillars. Double casement
window to first floor and attic dormer. Dentilled eaves. Noted as being a rare
example, together with No.24 of a folly or double cottage orne.
