Workshop, now art shop, and attached gate. House and attached
former currier's workshop. Late C18, early and mid C19 with
C20 alterations. Brick with concrete tile and pantile roofs.
Single and 2 storeys. Single storey shop, to left, has gable
end to street, with rendered plinth and C20 shop window with
sunblind. West front has cogged eaves. near central C20 door
and to its right, a C19 leaded casement. To right again, a
lean-to addition with a C20 casement. House, to right, has
rebated eaves, remains of first floor band and single ridge
stack. Windows are glazing bar sashes. West front has a mid
C20 2 storey hipped porch carried on piers, flanked to left by
a single sash on each floor and to right by 2 sashes on each
floor. Under the porch, a 6-panelled door. To right again,
former currier's workshop. 2 storeys. First floor has 3
louvred openings. Ground floor has to left a segment headed
plank door, and to its right, a 3-light casement with
segmental head and beyond, a 2-light casement. House interior
has a late C18 winder stair with turned newels and stick
balusters. Ground floor rooms have late C18 fireplaces and
anaglypta friezes. Former workshop interior has chamfered span
beams and labelled hooks where curried skins were hung.
Outside, attached to the street end of the building, an early
C19 wrought iron spearhead gate.
