Norwell Cottage

GV II

House. c1800. Brick with stone dressings and hipped slate
roof. plinth, cogged eaves, 2 ridge stacks. Windows are
glazing bar sashes with rubbed brick heads, those to the first
floor being smaller. 2 storeys; 3 window range. Projecting
centre with a basket arched recess containing a moulded round
headed doorway with wing-shaped brackets to hood. Beaded
6-panel door with plain fanlight.Beyond, single sashes. At
each end of the front, a round headed shoe scraper. To the
right, an infilled passage, with a blocked doorway and a small
sash above it, both with segmental heads. Left end has a sash
on each floor, the upper one being a dummy. This house may
have been an ancillary building to No 31, Regency House.
