30/2 Falstone Bridge

Bridge, 1843 by Henry Welch. Rock-faced stone. 3 broad segmental arches
with bold voussoirs, and rounded cutwaters. Plain parapet, with arched coping,
splays out at each end.

Cast-iron plate set into western parapet inscribed HENRY WELCH, ENGINEER -
JOHN RIDLEY, INSPECTOR, 1843. Stone in eastern parapet inscribed SURTEES and
STEEL CONTRACTORS 1843.
