Late Cl8 to early to mid Cl9. 3-storey and cellar. Red brick on projecting
plinth. Slate roof. Each has one window on all floors, 4 panes wide on ground
floor, and door in outer corner. No 23 has 5-panel door, No 24 has 6-panel
door, both in surround of panelled reveals with pilasters, cut console brackets
and cornice broken forward over brackets. Central arched passage entry.
All the listed buildings, with Nos 1 to 9 (consec) Lowndes Buildings, in Castle
Street (West Side) form a group.
