Opened in November 193l; designed by Guy Dawber and Wilson and built by Mardon
and Ball.
Tall 2-storey modern building. Cl8 character. Brick on stone plinth with
stone dressings. 5-bay front with projecting central part 3 bays wide with
pediment and panelled parapet to sides. The ground floor treated with Doric
pilasters of brick with stone bases and caps carrying entablature at lst floor
level. 8-panel central door with rectangular fanlight. Central lst floor
window arched. Outer 1st floor windows have wrought iron balconies.

All the listed buildings in Castle Street (East Side) form a group.
