Pair of large, semi-detached houses. No 14 now 2 flats. Mid-late Cl9. Bargate
stone with ashlar dressings; plain tile roofs. 2 storeys with basement and
attic. 4 symmetrical bays, 1:2:1, outer bays with gabled 2-storey porches,
central bays rising to gabled ½-dormers. Porches have: tall flight of steps up
to 4-centred-arched doorway with hoodmould and inner board door; offset at first
floor level; single-light, 6-pane first floor window with quoined surround;
corbelled, ashlar-coped gable; and set behind, the roof of the bay behind lower
than the main roof. Central bays have a 2-light small-pane window with quoined
surround to each floor; on basement, ground and first floors with transom; on
ground, first and attic floors with hoodmould; on attic floor just breaking
eaves under corbelled, ashlar-coped gable. Central cross-ridge stack with
dentil cornice. Rear: central bays project under paired gables each having a
canted, 4-light bay window with hipped Welsh slate roof to ground floor, and a
2-light window to first floor and attic, formerly transomed; decorative
bargeboards to gables and lateral stack to each.
