House. Early C18, (dated 1719 on rainwater head). Yellow brick with left-hand
bay rebuilt in red brick with grey headers. Plain tiled roof, hipped with tall
brick end stacks. 2 storeys and attics, 2 segment-headed dormers behind parapet.
Plinth, cornice-bands over ground and first-floors and coped panelled parapet,
(plain over left-hand bay only). 6 bays, slightly irregular with bay at
extreme left more widely spaced; no window in this bay on ground floor.
Glazing bar sashes with gauged heads and moulded cills. 6-panel door with
reveals and wreathed and radiating fanlight in fourth bay from right. Porch
with detached Ionic columns supporting flat entablature porch. Low spear-
head railings surrounding shallow forecourt to front on both sides of door, to
left not reaching to end of front. Interior: Hall; early C18 fielded panelling.
Buffet to left of fire-surround with egg and dart moulding and acanthus frieze to
cornice mantel-shelf. Staircase; 2-flight return staircase with long lower
flight. Uncut string, open ramped rail, columnar newel-posts, turned balusters
with square knops and panelled dado, probably c171O. Dining room; fielded
panelling, c1730. Late C18 fireplace with drop decoration and swag panel with
urn and fluted frieze. Arched doorway with volute bracket keyblock. Study;
Circa 1700 fielded panelling. Blocked fireplace with rained overmantel.
Most rooms on first floor have early C18 fielded panelling and fireplaces.
Rear extensions have plainer C19 interior features.
