House, late C19 probably by Norman Shaw. Squared tooled stone with tooled
ashlar quoins and dressings; yard walls snecked stone. Graduated Lakeland slate
roof. South elevation 1 storey, 2 bays. Chamfered plinth, sill band, moulded
eaves cornice with moulded brackets. Right bay set slightly forward; each bay
has pair of 12-pane sash windows in moulded boxes. Pyramidal roof has large
central stepped stack with moulded string and cornice. 2-bay left return shows
similar window with blind window to right; right return shows projecting right
bay with 8-pane and two 12-pane sashes; and 6-panel door on inner return.
Yard walls have arched coping, and boarded door on east between house and
outbuilding which has 3 boarded doors to yard, the central recessed, and hip-
ended roof.
