Farmhouse. Dated 1710, altered C19 and C20. Coursed squared ironstone, C20
interlocking tile roof, brick end stacks. 2 storeys and attic; 3-window range.
3-unit through-passage plan. Entrance front facing yard has C20 door to left of
centre with wood lintel in C20 gabled stone porch and plank door to far right
with wood lintel. 2-light casement windows to ground floor, 3-light casements to
1st floor, all with wood lintels and blocked window to 1st floor far right.
Sundial to right of middle 1st floor window. Quoins and stone-coped gables with
kneelers. Full-height wing to rear right facing road, C19 gabled timber porch
and leaded 2-light casements to rear elevation. Datestone to right gable end
inscribed M/IE/1710. Interior not inspected. Wing to rear has attached wall to
right bounding garden of coursed squared ironstone with moulded brick coping.
The builder was probably a member of the Marriott family whose home this was for
several generations.
