House. 1894-6 with older origins, by Edward Swinfen Harris for Dr. 0'Ryan, local
G.P. Red brick in English bond, tile-hung to 1st and 2nd floors, plain tile
roofs, brick lateral and internal stacks. Double-depth plan. Picturesque
composition. 3-storey, 3-window main block has hipped roof and central
part-glazed door in gabled parch. Wood mullion and transom windows to ground and
1st floors, with leaded upper lights. Central 3-light casement window to 2nd
floor flanked by 3-light gabled half-dormer windows with transoms and leaded
upper lights. 2-storey-and-attic projecting wing to left has bay window to
ground floor gable end with chamfered stone mullions and blank basket-arched
stone heads, and 5-light window to 1st floor, with moulded wood lintel and
timber tracery of trefoil-headed lights and trefoils above. Ornamental ridge
tiles, to main block and finials. Interior has original staircase, chimneypieces
and stop-moulded beams.
