House and shop. Datestone 1886. Brick with slate roof. Single-unit shop with
accommodation above. 3 storeys, 2-window range. Ground floor has C19 wooden shop
front with C20 modifications. Pair of large wooden bay windows at first floor
with curved sides, central arch head lights and cast iron railings above. Pair
of 3-light second floor windows in half dormers with moulded stone pediments
over. Moulded stone string courses and cornice. Brick stacks at ends. Plaster
panels in pediments have date and inscription, "This is the house that Jack
built". Built for J. Wallis, landlord of the adjacent Hind Hotel (q.v.).
