Church. C13 origins. Nave and porch mainly C14. Bellcote rebuilt C18. Chancel
reconstructed c.1910. Regular coursed and squared coursed limestone with some
ironstone banding. Lead and Collyweston slate roof. Nave, chancel and south
porch. South elevation of chancel of 2-window range of c.1910 two-and 3-light
windows with square and segmental heads. 2-stage buttresses at corner and
between windows. Gabled roof with Collyweston slates and ashlar gable parapet
with finial. c.1910 3-light east window is with flanking 2-stage buttresses and
buttress below. North elevation of chancel of 2-window range with C13 lancet to
right and c.1910 two-light window to left. South elevation of nave of 3 bays.
2-window range with 2- and 3-light Perpendicular windows with hollow reveals and
4-centred arch heads. Buttress to right. Shallow gabled roof with plain
parapets. Central gabled porch with finial has moulded outer and inner doorways
with 2-centred arch heads. North elevation of nave is similar to south with a
small central Perpendicular doorway, now blocked. West elevation has slight
central projection with small central quatrefoil window. C18 gabled bellcote has
semi-circular arch with keystone. Interior; C14 double-chamfered chancel arch
with semi-circular responds. Nave roof probably may have some original beams,
but is mainly c.1910. Late C18 panelled pulpit. C13 octagonal font. Moulded wood
lintel to blocked north door. Monument: Thomas Scriven died 1737 and wife, black
tablet with scroll surround to north wall of chancel. Early C20 stained glass
east window is probably by Kempe. Early C20 stained glass to south-east window
of chancel.
