16/87 South Farmhouse

Farmhouse now house. Probably late C17 altered C19 and C20. Squared coursed
limestone with reconstituted stone slate roof. 3-unit plan. 2 storeys. 4-window
range of C19 style casements under wood lintels. Window above front door is C20.
4-panel door to left of centre under reconstituted stone lintel is a C20
replacement. Ashlar gable parapets and ashlar ridge and end stacks, one has
moulded cornice. Rear elevation is similar with a projecting corner window and
some C20 windows. Interior: entrance hall has staircase with stick balustrade.
Rooms to left and right of entrance have open fireplaces with bressumers.
Fireplace to right of entrance also has an oven. Stop-chamfered spine beams.
Said to have been used for a time as the Dun Cow public house.
