The Malt House and attached outbuildings

II

Farmhouse and attached outbuilding. C17 origins extended mid C18 and C19.
Squared coursed limestone with Collyweston slate roof. Originally 2-unit,
lobby-entry, then 3-unit plan now an L-shape range. One and 2 storeys, parts
with attic. Main front is a 4-window range of irregular cross casement and C19
sash windows under wood lintels. Small single-light windows to ground floor far
left and to right of centre under wood lintels and quoins. 6-panelled door, to
left of centre, is also under wood lintel. Ashlar gable parapets and ashlar
ridge and end stacks. C19 one-unit extension, attached to left, is similar but
with lower eaves. Range of outbuildings, attached to rear, have central cart
entrance, evidence of different builds and varying roof pitches. The building at
the end of the range may have been a malting and has ashlar gable parapets and
the remains of a metal revolving roof vent.
