13/63 Head Gardeners Cottage
GV II
Gardeners houses. C17 and C18 far Brudenell family of Deene Hall. Squared coursed
limestone and red brick with Collyweston slate roof. Originally probably a C17
one-unit house to which a C18 two-unit house was added. Main front of C18 house
is brick with a 3-window range of C19 casements under shallow brick arches. C20
door, under similar head, to far left. Brick stacks at ends. A one-unit
single-storey stone range, attached to left, is probably C17 and has 2 windows
with moulded stone surrounds. Rear elevation is similar. Interior not inspected.
A range of similar shape appears on the estate map of 1747.
