Non-Conformist Church. Dated 1863. Coursed squared coal measures sandstone with coped gables, moulded kneelers, and a Welsh slated roof. Two storeys above a basement, five bays, with pedimented north front, central doorway approached by a flight of stone steps, and cast iron railings with handrail. Semi-circular arched doorway with radiating fanlight and double doors, each four panelled. Flanking the doorway are tall semi-circular arched windows, with glazing bar sashes, 4 x 4 panes. Plain band course to heads of windows and, within the gable apex, an inscribed plaque 'UNITED METHODIST FREE CHURCH 1863'. Side wall windows within plain openings of two-light with gothic arched heads. Single bay of two storeys at south end.
