Founded 1611 A building of 2 storeys in coursed rubble of E shaped plan with
stone slate roofs, flat verges on the gables with a finial on each apex. The long
wing is parallel to the road, the 3 shorter wings gable end to it. The long wing
and the north end shorter wing appear to be in nearly original condition. The
rest were added or rebuilt in 1830. (date over 1 of the new doorways), likewise
the walls with elaborate gateways linking the road end gables. All windows are
stone mullioned, generally of 3 lights to the ground floor and of 2 lights to the
1st floors. Stone chimneys with double, triple and quadruple flues.
All the listed buildings on the east side of North Street form a group.
