Mill barn. c1868. Red brick with blue brick dressings; plain tile
roof. Aligned north-west/south-east with steam engine house projecting
to the north-east. North-east front: Mainly one storey with loft to
the right; roughly 4 bays, 4 tiers of cruciform air vents to the left,
tall double doors with segmental pointed arch to left of centre, gabled
steam engine projection with tall chimney stack to right of centre, door
and ground-and first-floor windows to the right all with segmental
pointed heads. South-west front: Tall double doors to right of centre
with segmental pointed arch, 4 tiers of cruciform air vents to left of
centre and to right, the latter partly obscured by a gabled extension;
loft window to left with segmental pointed head and latticed frame,
right hand bay partly obscured by a projecting range of loose boxes (not
included). Included as a complete example of a formerly steam driven
mill barn of which few examples remain in western lowland Staffordshire.
