Late C16 and later with early C19 addition on east side in brick. Older work
in stone with tile roof and brick stacks; 2 storeys; irregular plan; some stone
mullioned windows, now generally blocked; 2 doorways with 4-centred arched
heads, one enclosed within transomed mullioned stone window, and one with iron
studded ledged door; coped gables with stone finials. The stone masonry is
partly that of Gerrard's Bromley Hall of circa 1575, which is referred to and
illustrated in Robert Plot: "The Natural History of Staffordshire", 1686.
