Probably early C17 in origin, refashioned early C19. Red brick with stone
dressings and vertical bands of blue brick rising from first floor simulating
timber framing; 2 storeys plus attic; main front to south has 2 advanced bays
with gables projecting on stone corbels, 3+2+2+3 stone mullioned windows with
transoms, those to bays in stone surrounds on corbels; cast iron casement
windows throughout with diamond pattern glazing bars stone stringcourse
at first floor. North elevation has 2 gables projecting on stone corbel table,
projecting gabled porch to right with 4-centred arched doorway, and single
storey wing on right-hand side; carved stone panel on east side with date 1838
relating to 2 storey porch bay added to right, which is of similar character
but with stone ground storey and with plain doorway on south side. Sprocket
eaves; slates. Interior has good moulded ceiling beams in dining room and
sitting room, the latter with C17 panelling and over-mantel (not in situ).
